Or, how about if you aren't actually in the automotive industry and not there to connect with vendors, attend seminars, get hands on the new products, negotiate transactions and generally set up business for the next year, stay home and don't bitch about how it's not cool enough for you. It's a fucking trade show for businesses inside the industry.
End rant.

That used to drive me up a wall when I would go to SEMA when I was in the industry.
If people want to go to a car show, go to a NY or a NAIAS in Detroit - those are there for the consumer. Better yet, if a local charity is holding a car show, support a local charity and visit that show!

what bad thugs could possibly be said about SEMA?

My dad had a conversation with Chip Foose when he sat next to him after a panel at SEMA. Said he was such a nice guy.

I was at SEMA last year for work and it sucked. Not a whole lot of things going on aside from a bunch of people vinyl-wrapping cars. AAPEX is where it's at

Frig off ricky. A) we all stay home anyways and B) oh noz not internet commenters commenting on the car industry.
I work in politics. Sometimes there are political conventions. Should I tell you not to comment on those?

Yes is the short answer; since I don't know anything about it and as a relatively uninformed citizen, it's probably better I stay out of it.
